We are currently taking applications!
Eligibility for the Valley Environmental Academy is based upon student achievement as measured by the California Standards Tests (CST). To qualify, students must score Proficient or Advanced on both the English Language Arts and Mathematics portion of the CST in the previous school year. The Valley Environmental Academy is open to students outside and within our attendance area. If you live outside of the VNMS attendance area, you will also need to fill out an Open Enrollment form for the Valley Environmental Academy. |

Open Enrollment For Van Nuys Middle School - Last Day 5-24-13 (Click Here) Open enrollment for Van Nuys Middle School begins on May 6th and we have plenty of seats available for students who live outside of our attendance area. After clicking on the heading above, you will have access to the Open Enrollment form and the website. Please read all directions and if you have any questions, please call our attendance office (818-267-5900) and speak with Mrs. Hernandez. Open enrollment ends on May 24th. Once your application is complete with a signature from an administrator from your school of attendance, return the application to our attendance office. If you are a student accepted into our Valley Environmental Academy and live outside of our attendance are, you will need to do this. |

Our AVID Program is now accepting new sixth-grade applicants for the 2013-14 school year. What is AVID? "AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness system for elementary through higher education that is designed to increase schoolwide learning and performance. The AVID College Readiness System (ACRS) accelerates student learning, uses research based methods of effective instruction, provides meaningful and motivational professional learning, and acts as a catalyst for systemic reform and change." - www.avid.org |
