Chocolate Sale Fundraiser - February 1 - 22 (click here)
Our annual Chocolate Sale Fundraiser will begin on February 1 and go through the 22nd. Once again, we will be featuring the premium of all chocolates, World's Finest ®! Our goal is to have each student sell one case of chocolate, which will enable us to reach our goal of $65,000!
The first thing that students will need is a parent permission slip signed and returned in order to receive and sell their case of chocolate. After students sell their case of chocolate, they may pick up another case from the student store.
On January 31st, all students will attend a fundraiser assembly during their PE classes.

After-School Tutoring, Fall, 2011-12
Tutoring for all subjects is offered by Y.S. Plus, our after-school provider, Monday through Friday from the end-of-school to 6:00 p.m. in room B53. In addition, VNMS provides tutors in all subjects except foreign language on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in room B53. On Tuesday, in addition to Y.S. Plus, our Title One aides tutor from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in B53. For more information, please call Mr. Williamson at 818-267-5900.

Van Nuys Middle School Helps Set Another Guinness World Record!
On October 12th, hundreds of Van Nuys Middle School students did Jumping Jacks during their physical education class, which helped contribute to a new Guinness Book World Record. The record was set when 300,265 students in the State of California participated in doing Jumping Jacks within a 24-hour period. Congratulations to our students and to all participating students in our golden state!
Thank you Mr. Kurt Krueger and the entire physical education department for bringing another Guinness World Record fitness event to our campus!

Congratulations to Astrid Gramjo, Kiara Ocampo, Odalis Morales, Charlotte Pantoja, Lindsey Vargas, Jessica Cabanos, Michelle Hernandez, and Coach Vanessa for their outstanding performance at the Second Annual Dance Masters Competition. YS Plus Dance Academies throughout the LAUSD met at Roybal Learning Center on December 3rd for this competition. Well done students and Coach Vanessa!

Van Nuys Middle School's 2011 API Score improves to 720! A 14 Point increase!
VNMS continues to improve its API score. Since the inception of the current school-accountability system in 1999, the API score has increased by 186 points. We thank our students for their hard work, our teachers for their dedication in finding the potential in all children, and our parents for their unwavering support.

Anti-Bullying Resources For Students and Parents
Please view our Anti-Bullying Resources found under "Students" and "Parents" in the drop-down menu above, or click on the yellow "Bully Free Zone" poster to the right. Students and parents will also be able to report bullying in our "Bully Box," which is found on this site. Simply fill in the needed information and click "Submit," and your message will be sent to the dean and other administrators on campus. All Bully Box reports are confidential.

Enrollment Package / Locker Agreements (click here)
Welcome to the Parent Forms page. Parents/guardians can download the school forms in the desired language, complete the form on a computer, print, sign, and return to the school. Downloading the form to a computer does not automatically transfer your information to the school.
In an effort to reduce paperwork sent home with students in the first week of school, we now have all of the opening letters, information, locker agreements, and emergency cards online. Please click on "Fall Enrollment Package and Forms" to access the LAUSD webpage and attached files.
